Level 1 - Beginner Ages 8-10

Level 2 - Beginner/Intermediate Ages 9-13

Level 3 - Intermediate/Advanced Ages 11-13

Level 4 - Intermediate/Advanced Ages 13-18

Class Descriptions & Dress Code

Ballet

For ages 6 & up. This class aims to build foundations of classical ballet technique through graduated integration of barre, center, and across the floor work through age and level appropriate combinations. We also focus on dynamic stability and integrated artistry to allow students to find joy and personalization while developing strong classical technique.  

Dress Code: Solid color leotard, pink or tan tights, hair in a neat bun, pink split soled ballet shoes. Optional tight fitting dance shorts or ballet skirt may be worn. 

Ballet/Tap Split

​​For children ages 4-5 with or without previous training. This class is an introduction into the basic technique of ballet and tap. Basic dance principles and creativity come together to introduce the student to the magical world of dance. Ballet and tap exercises are taught to introduce important dance basics such as stretching, concentration, rhythm, coordination and discipline. The purpose of this class is to provide a foundation for continued dance training as well as develop a love for dance itself. 

Dress Code: Any leotard, pink or black tights, hair neatly secured out of face, pink ballet shoes, black velcro tap shoes

Competition Conditioning

Competition Conditioning is a requirement for all students on the competition team and puts an emphasis on the technique required for some of the hardest tricks in dance. Multiple turns, high jumps, and many other special skills are taught in a progressive manner to all students to help achieve their best results. This class focuses on the technical requirements needed to do well in competition and class curriculum also includes deep stretching, strengthening specifically designed for dancers, and traditional stamina exercises. In addition, an emphasis is put on educating dancers on anatomy, kinesiology, nutrition and the importance of understanding and caring for one’s body as its tool. 

Dress Code: Any color leotard, tight fitting dance shorts with tan or black tights or dance pants/leggings, slip on Jazz shoes or half soles, hair neatly secured out of face. Form fitting shirts may be worn over leotard. 

Contemporary

For ages 9 & up. Contemporary is offered in different levels according to previous experience and age. Contemporary is a fusion of different dance disciplines. Characterized by its versatility, the contemporary curriculum includes technique, body alignment and emotion. Dancers will build upon their skills as they are challenged with complex musicality, physical expressivity and attention to detail. As students progress through each level the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate. 

Dress Code: Any color leotard, tight fitting dance shorts with tan or black tights or dance pants/leggings, half soles, hair neatly secured out of face. Form fitting shirts may be worn over leotard. 

Creative Movement

​​For children ages 2 to 3. This class is an introduction to the wonderful art of dance. Students are introduced to the basic elements of ballet and jazz technique utilizing play and imagery. These classes aid with coordination, the development of fine motor skills, musical awareness and listening skills. This class lays the foundation for future training. 

Dress Code: Comfortable clothes your little one can move in and hair neatly secured out of face . No jeans or dresses. Bare feet or socks may be worn. 

Hip Hop

For ages 6 & up. Hip hop is offered in different levels according to previous experience and age. Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop is loved by students for its versatility, fast rhythms, modern style and less rigorous technique. This class includes an intense warm up and conditioning component that aids in performing hip hop choreography. This class is a great way to express yourself, have fun, and gain confidence.

Dress Code: Comfortable clothes you can move in, sneakers or tennis shoes, hair neatly secured out of face. No jeans. 

Jazz

For ages 6 & up. Jazz is offered in different levels according to previous experience and age. Students will learn important technique and dance terminology while also gaining musicality and performance skills. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress through each level the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

Dress Code: Any color leotard, tight fitting dance shorts with tan or black tights or dance pants/leggings, slip on black Jazz shoes, hair neatly secured out of face. Form fitting shirts may be worn over leotard. 

Jazz/Hip Hop Split

​​For children ages 6-8 with or without previous training. This class is an introduction into the basic technique of jazz and hip hop. Basic dance principles and creativity come together to introduce the student to the magical world of dance. Jazz & hip hop exercises are taught to introduce important dance basics such as stretching, concentration, rhythm, coordination and discipline. The purpose of this class is to provide a foundation for continued dance training as well as develop a love for dance itself. 

Dress Code: Any leotard, pink or black tights, dance shorts or pants, hair neatly secured out of face, slip on Jazz shoes

Lyrical

For ages 6 & up. Lyrical is offered in different levels according to previous experience and age. Lyrical dance combines elements of ballet, modern, and jazz to create a soft style that emphasizes the storytelling quality of music.  An emphasis is placed on grace and fluidity, musicality, and expressiveness to capture emotion through movement. Class curriculum includes warm up, stretches, across the floor progressions, and choreography combinations. These classes are for dancers who like rhythm, personal style, and expression particularly with lyrically expressive songs. As students progress through each level the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.


Dress Code: Any color leotard, tight fitting dance shorts with tan or black tights or dance pants/leggings, Ballet shoes, hair neatly secured out of face. Form fitting shirts may be worn over leotard. 

Musical Theater

For ages 6 & up. Musical Theatre is offered in different levels according to previous experience and age. This class focuses primarily on musical theatre style jazz. While the class does touch on technique there is also a large emphasis on exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Class curriculum includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. Emphasis will be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. Drama inspired games and improvisation are used often in class to develop strong performance qualities. 

Dress Code: Any color leotard, tight fitting dance shorts with tan or black tights or dance pants/leggings, slip on Jazz shoes, hair neatly secured out of face. Form fitting shirts may be worn over leotard. 

Tap

For dancers ages 6 & up. Tap is offered in different levels according to previous experience and age. Tap is an exciting art that focuses on rhythm and precision. Tap dance enables a dancer to create a percussive sound with their feet. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. As students progress through each level the curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

Dress Code: Any color leotard or a fitted tank or tee, tights with shorts or form fitting dance pants/leggings, tap shoes, hair neatly secured out of face.
