Our Dance Instructors

Brett Ebling, Studio Director & Artistic Director

Brett began dancing at the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped since! She is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Tumbling, Modern/Contemporary, Lyrical and Musical Theater. Brett received her B.F.A. in Dance Choreography from Arizona State University and studied under the direction of Shouze Ma, a founding member of the first Modern dance company in China. 

At ASU, Brett participated in the inaugural year of the ASU Summer Study Abroad Dance Program in Beijing – the first Chinese summer dance program offered by a U.S. institution. During the program, she lived in China for a month studying in the art of Tai Chi as well as Contemporary and Folk dance with some of the country’s most renowned instructors. 

She has performed and choreographed in works for ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, the Phoenix Suns halftime show, and various musical theater productions in South Jersey including Guys and Dolls, Bye Bye Birdie, Meet Me in St. Louis, Footloose, Annie Get Your Gun, The King and I, Into the Woods, Seussical the Musical, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Do Black Patent Shoes Really Reflect Up? 

Brett also served as a co-captain for the 2011 Philadelphia Soulmates, the professional dance team for the Philadelphia Soul arena football team. Brett has also performed as a company member in the Andrea Mychaels Dance Project (AMDP) at the Jazz Dance World Congress in Pittsburgh, PA in 2012. For over 13 years, she has taught competitive dance for studios in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with her students and choreography winning numerous overall high scores and judges awards. She is thrilled to be able to open Studio C Dance Company in hopes of providing a well rounded dance education experience for all her students. 

Casie Zarin, Studio Director & Competition Director

Casie started dancing at the age of 3 at Adams Dance Academy in Elmer, NJ. By the age of 6, she was already competing in regional and national dance competitions, winning multiple first place trophies for her solos as well as group dances. Casie is professionally trained in tap, jazz, ballet, modern, musical theatre, lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary. She has also danced along side well known tappers such as Michael Minery and Savion Glover. 

Casie attended Montclair State University, and graduated with degrees in both Broadcast Journalism and Business. While at Montclair State, she co-founded a hip hop group, her freshmen year, called "X-Quisite." She traveled to various colleges such as Rutgers University and William Patterson University to perform and compete against other high level hip hop groups. Casie also had the privilege of bringing a group of students to perform her choreography at the NBC show World of Dance competition for hip hop.  

In 2015, after the unexpected passing of her sister, Britni, Casie quit her full time job to dedicate all of her time to educating Britni’s own students in dance. She also had the privilege of opening a memorial scholarship in her sister’s honor. Casie has always put her students above everyone else, being an exceptional role model and mentor for these young dancers both inside and outside of the classroom. She is excited to take on the role of the Studio & Competition Director here at Studio C. Casie will continue to instill positivity, discipline, and kindness in all of her dancers at the studio!

Jennifer Plasha, Instructor

Jennifer is a graduate of West Chester University where she majored in Early Childhood

Education and minored in Dance. She is currently a teacher at The Malvern School of Glen Mills,

where she teaches Preschool/ Pre-k and is the school’s Curriculum Coordination. Jennifer has

been teaching recreational and competitive dance for the past 16 years at local dance studios.

She also continues to further her dance training by attending different workshops and

conventions. She is excited to join the Studio C Dance Company team of teachers and help mold

young dancers into superstars!

Jessica Ice, Instructor

Jessica Ice has been dancing since the age of 3 and has no intention of stopping anytime soon! Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa, Jessica grew up dancing at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. She danced for 15 years and competed in the regional and national spectrum for 12 of those years earning many awards and scholarships including Dance Educators of America’s Miss Dance of America. Jessica attended Broadway Theatre Project at the age of 17 and began making professional connections she continues to work with today. With the training and confidence she gained at BTP, Jessica decided to attend James Madison University and pursue her Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theatre. While at JMU Jessica performed in 14 musical theatre and dance productions and worked as a choreographer for another 5. She graduated JMU summa cum laude and was the recipient of the outstanding musical theatre graduate award. Jessica then moved to NYC and has been working professionally ever since. She has worked on cruise ships, back up danced for pop singer Ashley Allen, performed at many regional theaters across the country, been a resident ensemble member at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, and toured during the holidays with Elf, the musical. Jessica has also dipped her toe into the professional choreography world, choreographing a piece “This Is Me” for the NYC 2020 Dancers Agains Cancer Gala, dedicated to her childhood dance teacher. When Jessica is not performing, she stays busy as the owner and artistic director of a new convention/competition The 360 Dance Experience. Jessica is currently a student at NYU gaining her Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics with the intent to use her degree to help dancers and athletes struggling with disordered eating. Jessica just returned from her first performance since the beginning of the pandemic where she performed on Heinz Field in The Wizard of Oz.  

Jessica Ciampo, Guest Instructor

Jessica Ciampo grew up in New Jersey where she started her dance training at the age of four. She received her early training at Kathy Henkel School of Dance, where she studied various styles of dance. Jessica attended Paul VI High School in Haddonfield where she was the captain of the dance team and dance captain of the musicals.


She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance from DeSales University in Pennsylvania. She studied under Timothy Cowart and Trinette Singleton. Jessica has performed the work of established professionals such as Lynne Mariani, Tara Madsen Robbins, Jodi Sperling, Camille Armstrong, and Christopher K. Morgan.


Jessica’s choreography has been performed at the American College Dance Festival and the DeSales Emerging Choreographer’s Concert. She has also produced and participated in the Screendance Film Festival. Her choreography was showcased in Plugged In, a dance film that has been viewed at four different film festivals nationwide. It won “Best Short Film” at the Greater Lehigh Valley Film Festival in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and “2nd Place” at the Dance Short Film Festival in Tampa, Florida.

 

Jessica was the Owner and Artistic Director of Center Stage Studio for Performing Arts  in Haddon Heights, NJ for six years. She is currently on the faculty at Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, NJ where she teaches dance classes, is the head coach of the varsity basketball dance team, and has worked on the school musical. Jessica is also a certified sports nutritionist and personal trainer.

Isabel Garcia Kaplan, Guest Instructor

Isabel Garcia Kaplan is a Delaware and Philadelphia Area based professional dancer and choreographer. A Maryland native, she trained most notably at Edna Lee Dance studio with Ashley Canterna Hardy and Mary Moran. Isabel received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Dance and in Communications from DeSales University, where she trained under Trinette Singleton, Timothy Cowart, Tara Madsen Robbins, and Lynn Mariani. She then moved to New York City, where she was based for six years pursuing professional Musical Theatre and continuing her dance training.


In New York City, Isabel trained primarily at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway with industry experts such as Joshua Bergasse, James Kinney, Richard J. Hinds, Michael Mindlin, Shannon Lewis, Nicholas Palmquist, Marc Kimelman, Karla Garcia, Ray Hesselink, Lizz Picini, and Al Blackstone. She has also attended workshops with Partner Up (Mark Stuart), the Fosse Legacy Workshop (Anne Reinking and Valerie Pettiford), and American Dance Machine. Isabel has worked with accoladed choreographers such as Alex Sanchez and Richard Hinds, and she has performed the original choreography of Jerome Robbins (West Side Story), Bob Fosse (Chicago) and Alwin Nikolais (“Tensile Involvement”). Her professional performance credits include a Christmas show at Hersheypark and musicals at Shakespeare Festivals in Alabama and Pennsylvania, Fulton Theatre, Fireside Theatre, and Olney Theatre.


With over 25 years of dance training, Isabel has also choreographed since her youth and taught for twelve years. Over the years she has guest taught at studios in Alabama, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, and in Maryland, where she served ten years as a guest teacher and choreographer for Studio Dans. Her choreography has earned multiple top-score awards, choreography awards, and special recognitions at dance competitions. Recently Isabel has been teaching dance at Paul VI High School as a temporary long-term substitute instructor. You will find her most frequently teaching Jazz and Musical Theatre classes in Swedesboro, NJ and Wilmington, DE, as well as substituting in additional disciplines such as Ballet and Lyrical throughout the Delaware/Philadelphia region.  


Our Staff

Jen Miller, Office Director

Jennifer is a resident of Delaware County, Pa and has been a dance mom for over the past 16 years to her daughter Abby. Jen is extremely excited to be a part of Studio C Dance Company's next chapter. She believes the strengths of the dance company are respect, support, team work, kindness, and fairness.  Jen wants to build a place where all kids and parents can be accepted on who they are and not have to be in fear of bullying.  She continues to dream big for the students and parents of Studio C.  Reach for the stars and shine!
